Qiretan · Chapter V
The Frontier & Sylvania Station
The wider setting is intentionally frontier-like rather than a single unified galactic civilization. Worlds and societies maintain their own economies, laws, customs, and currencies.
Large transactions are generally electronic and traceable. Major hubs provide exchange services between currencies. Ordinary station purchases can use physical chits, while less integrated societies may rely on their own money, local systems, or barter.
Sylvania Station is one of those major crossroads. It serves as a place where travelers, cargo, information, contracts, and currencies all change hands.
It is also where Phineas’s longtime contact Cameron Delvane, a Vedalken fixer and broker, operates. Cameron can connect the Qiretan with contracts, information, unusual components, introductions, and discreet assistance when the crew needs someone who knows who to ask.
The setting is designed so that the Qiretan can take almost any kind of legitimate work and move naturally from one world, culture, or problem to another.
